I’m a bit behind in blogging about our adventures – this post highlights our travels around September 8-9, 2015. Follow us on Instagram to find out where we are currently!
After leaving Evangola State Park we headed to the Niagara Falls area! When trying to decide where to stay while visiting Niagara Falls, I kept coming across Branches of Niagara Campground and Resort. It was recommended by many reviewers and it had some of the best reviews I’ve ever seen for a campground! Located just 8.2 miles from Niagara Falls it’s one of the closest campgrounds you’ll find to the falls. After considering the great reviews and the proximity to the falls we decided to give it a try!
I knew the minute we drove onto the property that we were going to enjoy it here. The entire campground felt like a resort. . . .or like a very nice park. . .
Mature landscaping, native plants, a pond, lots of grass, manicured paths. . .it was gorgeous.
The camp buildings were all nice log buildings – this is the main bathroom, laundry area located in the middle of the park area. The bathrooms were very nice and always clean. My husband rates them as “hotel quality” – which you don’t often find when camping!
We visited the park right after peak season, in the middle of the week – so there weren’t any activities scheduled in the activity center – but stay here during the summer and there will be TONS of activities for kids to do!
Activities during the summer might include:
- Arts and crafts
- Scavenger hunts
- Face painting
- Zipline rides ($)
- Sports (soccer, volleyball, kickball, etc.)
- Game time
- Wagon rides
But we weren’t too disappointed – we had the amazing pool all to ourselves! Shaped like a big “O” the pool was the most unique pool we’ve ever seen.
The pool was heated, so the water was the perfect temp – we spent a lot of time swimming in this beautiful pool!
In addition to the pool, the play areas for the kids were top-notch. Check out this tiny log cabin play house – my daughter LOVED this. Filled with play kitchen and food items my daughter was eager to play “house” and cooked up delicious meal while I sat at the small wooden table inside. Located right next to the playhouse was a hopscotch pattern, a swing set, a tetherball pole and. . .
this obstacle-style playground. . .how cool is this!?!
Not far from there you’ll find a miniature golf course and life-size checkers and tic-tac-toe games!
You’ll also find a beautiful 8-acre lake on the property. You can rent a kayak or canoe and paddle around the lake.
Or you can pull up a chair and watch a sunset at the lake (that’s my kind of fun).
I had read quite a few reviews where people said they were staying at Branches of Niagara so that they could explore the Niagara Falls area but they loved the campground so much that they hardly left! I can completely see how this could happen. We had a wonderful time at Branches of Niagara Campground & Resort and would definitely recommend it to my friends and family!
Have you stayed at Branches of Niagara campground before? What part of the campground do you think your family would enjoy the most? Leave a comment and let me know!
Sponsored post :: In exchange for sharing our experience at Branches of Niagara Resort we were given a discount on our stay. All thoughts, opinions and photos are 100% my own. We honestly LOVED it and hope to go back in the future. . .
