Blue Valley RV park review {Walla Walla, Washington}

Shared June 30, 2015

After spending a week in Washington state parks (Lake Wenatchee and Sun Lakes) we headed into the city of Walla Walla, Washington. We had researched local RV parks and decided to stay at Blue Valley RV Park.

Although I love the views, wildlife, nature and vastness of the state parks, I can’t tell you how happy we were to have laundry services, wifi, cell reception, cable and nearby city services for the first time in about a week.

The Blue Valley RV Park is located super close to downtown. This was a big selling point for us as we knew we wanted to spend lots of time downtown. Located just on the opposite site of Highway 12, you could easily walk from the RV park into downtown. There is also a FREE Valley Transit Trolley that does pick-ups/drop-offs on that side of the freeway – check out route 9 and you can pick that up to head into town. It’s literally a couple minutes in a car to be immersed in downtown – it’s so conveniently located!

Although located not far from freeway – I didn’t hear the freeway once. I’m not kidding this place was so quiet. I even commented to the staff how quiet it was for being so close to the city.

Within the RV park, the individual spots aren’t super spacious, but they have a LOT of pull-through options, which we prefer – it makes parking so easy! I didn’t feel like we were too close to other motorhomes – even really big ones. Each space has the long spot for the trailer or motorhome and a side parking spot for your tow vehicle. And you’ll also find a small lawn area and a picnic table at each spot – along with 50 AMP hook-ups, cable, water and sewer.

Here’s an example of a back-in spot. The big hill on the back of the spot leads to a local golf course – so a really quiet backdrop! And if you like to golf, even better. 🙂

Inside the main RV office building they had very clean laundry facilities. You can expect to pay about $2 to wash and $2 to dry. The washer and dryers were nice and big – so much so that we were able to dry two loads in one dryer with ease.

I can’t emphasize enough how CLEAN this place is. I’m really particular about these things, but I really was impressed. Not cobwebs, dust bunnies, garbage, dirty floors – you can tell they take a lot of pride in keeping things clean and in good operating condition for the guests.

I also found this to be true for the showers and bathrooms (also located in the main building). The showers are FREE of charge and they have great water pressure, clean walls, clean floors and hot water – making me a happy camper.

In terms of security – they close the gate at night, so you’ll need a code to get into the park. Plus all the office services – laundry, bathroom, shower – require a code to access, so you feel safer knowing it’s only current guests are using the facilities.

The main RV park office building is also clean and organized – it has vaulted ceilings, big windows, a fireplace, a library, lounge chairs and even big round tables for dining or visiting.

And I cannot emphasize this enough – the wifi in this RV park was exceptional – which is a major rarity in RV parks. Usually the “free” wifi doesn’t actually work because you have so many people using an archaic network – but this is not the case at Blue Valley RV Park. The wifi was fast and reliable – I didn’t have any issues – for those of us who work on the road – this is a major deal!

If you’re looking for an RV park in Walla Walla – I definitely recommend the Blue Valley RV Park! We were really pleased with our choice and I would definitely stay here again.

Have you stayed here before? What features do you look for in a good RV park?! I’d love to hear from you!

I’d like a kennel where I could leave my dog when we hike where she’s not allowed. Happy travels!

This is a good review. Actually a real good review. But, I’m disappointed. I know you said you got compensated for your review, and I understand that. But I check this blog to read about your family adventures.

Hi Sue, I can understand why these posts wouldn’t be very interesting compared to our family adventure posts – but we have lots of fulltime RV families that follow our blog and we like sharing our experiences with RV parks. The sponsored posts (like this) are something we’ll be doing when we feel it’s a good fit – primarily if it provides information/value to our readers but also helps us achieve our goals of traveling on a budget and funding those adventures.

Sponsored or affiliate posts are part of the bigger picture of keeping us on the road – to do the fun adventures we love blogging about so much. We will ALWAYS be truthful, honest and genuine in the posts we do and will only select partnerships that value our readers. Hope this helps!

I’m working on a fun post about Fort Walla Walla museum – all adventure and lots of fun. Expect that in the next few days. 🙂
